ಮೂರನೆಯ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಅನ್ನು, ಇಂದ, ಗೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ — ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಲಿತಿರಿ. ಇಂದು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಹೆಸರು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇವೆ: ಪ್ರಥಮಾ, ದ್ವಿತೀಯಾ … ಸಪ್ತಮೀ.
In Level 3 you learned ಅನ್ನು, ಇಂದ, ಗೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ through real scenarios. Today we line them all up and give them their classical names, ಪ್ರಥಮಾ through ಸಪ್ತಮೀ — the same seven-case frame Sanskrit uses, with Kannada endings.
ನಿಯಮಗಳು · The rules
ಪ್ರತಿ ವಿಭಕ್ತಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಕಾರಕಾರ್ಥ: ಪ್ರಥಮಾ ಕರ್ತೃ, ದ್ವಿತೀಯಾ ಕರ್ಮ, ತೃತೀಯಾ ಕರಣ, ಚತುರ್ಥೀ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾನ, ಪಂಚಮೀ ಅಪಾದಾನ, ಷಷ್ಠೀ ಸಂಬಂಧ, ಸಪ್ತಮೀ ಅಧಿಕರಣ. ಸಂಬೋಧನೆ ಕರೆಯುವ ರೂಪ — ರಾಮನೇ, ಗುರುವೇ, ಅಮ್ಮಾ.
Each case carries a kāraka meaning: doer, object, instrument, recipient, source, relation, location. The vocative (ಸಂಬೋಧನೆ) is the calling form: ರಾಮನೇ!, ಗುರುವೇ!, or with simple lengthening, ಅಮ್ಮಾ!. The next lessons build every one of these forms stem by stem.
