 ಅರುಣ್ —  ನಾಳೆ ಭಾನುವಾರ. ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀಯ? 
Tomorrow is Sunday. What will you do?  
 ದೀಪಾ —  ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ತಾತನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಸಂಜೆ ಗೆಳತಿಯರ ಜೊತೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನೋಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. 
In the morning I'll go to grandpa's house. In the evening I'll watch a movie with my friends.  
 ಅರುಣ್ —  ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು. ಮುಂದಿನ ವಾರ ನಾವು ಊರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ. 
Nice. Next week we're going to our hometown.  
 ದೀಪಾ —  ಎಷ್ಟು ದಿನ ಇರುತ್ತೀರಿ? 
How many days will you stay?  
 ಅರುಣ್ —  ಮೂರು ದಿನ ಇರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಗುರುವಾರ ವಾಪಸ್ ಬರುತ್ತೇವೆ. 
We'll stay three days. We'll come back on Thursday.  

ವಿವರಣೆ · Explanation

ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ರೂಪ ಬೇಡ! ನಾಳೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಮುಂದಿನ ವಾರ ಬರುತ್ತೇವೆ — ಇದೇ ರೂಪ. ಕಾಲದ ಪದ (ನಾಳೆ, ಆಮೇಲೆ, ಮುಂದಿನ ವಾರ) ಅರ್ಥ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.

Good news: spoken Kannada uses the same tense you already know for the future. ನಾಳೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ = I will go tomorrow. A time word — ನಾಳೆ (tomorrow), ಆಮೇಲೆ (later), ಮುಂದಿನ ವಾರ (next week) — makes the future meaning clear. That's why this tense is called the present-future.

ಗ್ರಾಂಥಿಕ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತ್ ರೂಪವೂ ಇದೆ: ಮಾಡುವೆನು/ಮಾಡುವೆ, ಮಾಡುವನು, ಮಾಡುವಳು, ಮಾಡುವುದು, ಮಾಡುವರು. ಪುಸ್ತಕ, ಹಾಡು, ಕಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ — “ನಾನು ಬರುವೆ” ಎಂದು.

There is also a bookish future you'll meet in songs, stories and formal writing: ಮಾಡುವೆನು / ಮಾಡುವೆ (I shall do), ಮಾಡುವನು (he shall), ಮಾಡುವಳು (she shall), ಮಾಡುವರು (they shall). Recognize it; in conversation stick to ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.

Describe your plan for tomorrow in three sentences — morning, afternoon, evening: ನಾಳೆ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ನಾನು … ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. Then ask someone: ನೀವು ನಾಳೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ?
