Perfect: I have done

ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಬಂದಿದೆ — ಆಗಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸದ ಮಾತು.

The perfect tense: ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ (I have done), ಬಂದಿದೆ (it has come).

ವಿವರಣೆ · Explanation

ಆಗಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ — ಮಾಡಿ + ಇದ್ದೇನೆ = ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀಯ, ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅವಳು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ, ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ನಾವು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

The perfect says an action is done and its result still matters now — English have done. Form: the participle (ಮಾಡಿ, ಹೋಗಿ, ಬಂದು, ತಿಂದು) + the present of ಇರು: ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ (I have done), ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀಯ (you have), ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ / ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಳೆ (he/she has), ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ (they have), ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ (we have).

ಅದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ: ಬಂದಿದೆ, ಆಗಿದೆ, ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ. “ಮಳೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ” = ಮಳೆ ಬಂತು, ನೆಲ ಇನ್ನೂ ಒದ್ದೆ. ಹೋಲಿಸಿ: ಮಾಡಿದೆ (ಭೂತ) — ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ (ಇನ್ನೂ ಫಲ ಇದೆ).

Neuter perfect: ಬಂದಿದೆ (has come), ಆಗಿದೆ (has happened), ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ (is finished). Compare: ನಿನ್ನೆ ಮಳೆ ಬಂತು (it rained yesterday — plain past) vs ಮಳೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ (it has rained — the ground is still wet). For experiences: ಮೈಸೂರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ = I have been to Mysuru.
