ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಸ್ಥಳದ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ “ಗೆ” ಸೇರಿಸಿ: ಶಾಲೆ → ಶಾಲೆಗೆ, ಅಂಗಡಿ → ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ, ಮನೆ → ಮನೆಗೆ.

To say where you're headed, add the dative ending. After -e or -i it is simply -ge: ಶಾಲೆಗೆ (to school), ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ (to the shop), ಮನೆಗೆ (home). The question word is ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ? — ‘to where?’

-ಅ ಅಂತ್ಯದ ಪದಗಳಿಗೆ “ಕ್ಕೆ”: ಕೆಲಸ → ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ, ಮರ → ಮರಕ್ಕೆ. -ಉ ಅಂತ್ಯದ ಪದಗಳಿಗೆ “ಇಗೆ”: ಊರು → ಊರಿಗೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು → ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ.

Nouns ending in -a double up to -kke: ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ (to work), ಮರಕ್ಕೆ (to the tree). Nouns ending in -u change the u to i and add -ge: ಊರು → ಊರಿಗೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು → ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ, ಮೈಸೂರು → ಮೈಸೂರಿಗೆ. Three shapes, one meaning: ‘to’.
