Giving and telling — the dative with people
ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರಿ? — “ಇಗೆ / ಗೆ”.
Use -ige/-ge for the receiver: give to, tell to, show to.

ವಿವರಣೆ · Explanation
ಕೊಡುವುದು, ಹೇಳುವುದು, ತೋರಿಸುವುದು — ಯಾರಿಗೆ? ಆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ “ಇಗೆ/ಗೆ” ಬರುತ್ತದೆ: ರಾಮ → ರಾಮನಿಗೆ, ಅಮ್ಮ → ಅಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ, ಅವನು → ಅವನಿಗೆ, ಅವಳು → ಅವಳಿಗೆ, ಸೀತೆ → ಸೀತೆಗೆ.
Give, tell, show — the receiver takes the dative. Masculine -a names insert ನ್: ರಾಮನಿಗೆ, ಅಪ್ಪನಿಗೆ, ಅಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ (kinship words like ಅಮ್ಮ also use ನ್). Pronouns: ಅವನಿಗೆ (to him), ಅವಳಿಗೆ (to her), ಅವರಿಗೆ (to them / respectful). -e names just add ಗೆ: ಸೀತೆಗೆ. The question is ಯಾರಿಗೆ? — ‘to whom?’
ನಾನು → ನನಗೆ, ನೀನು → ನಿನಗೆ, ನೀವು → ನಿಮಗೆ, ನಾವು → ನಮಗೆ. ಇವು ವಿಶೇಷ ರೂಪಗಳು — ಬಾಯಿಪಾಠ ಮಾಡಿ.
The pronoun datives are irregular — memorise them as words: ನನಗೆ (to me), ನಿನಗೆ (to you, informal), ನಿಮಗೆ (to you, respectful), ನಮಗೆ (to us). They will matter even more in the next lesson.

ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಏನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಮೂರು ವಾಕ್ಯ ಹೇಳಿ — “ಅಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಹೂವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಹೀಗೆ. ವಸ್ತುವಿಗೆ “ಅನ್ನು”, ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ “ಇಗೆ” — ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ಬಳಸಿ.
Say three giving-sentences about your family: ಅಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಹೂವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ (I give Mom a flower). Each sentence should have both endings: -annu on the thing, -ige on the person.
